Metaflex® Spiral Wound Gasket (James Walker) Metaflex® Spiral Wound Gaskets are engineered for sealing flanged joints in applications where temperature, pressure, vibration, and flow conditions exceed the capability of conventional gasket materials. The gasket consists of a V-section metal winding combined with a softer filler material, forming alternating metal and filler layers to ensure high sealing integrity and resilience. Technical Specifications Operating Pressure: Seals up to 350 bar (higher pressures can be considered) Operating Temperature (depending on filler material): Graphite (standard/high purity): up to 650°C PTFE: up to 260°C High temperature filler (HTF): up to 1000°C Metal Windings (standard): Stainless Steel 304L / 316L (Other alloys available upon request) Support Rings: Carbon steel (standard) Stainless steel and other materials available Standard Sizes: Nominal thickness: 2.5 mm – 7.3 mm Maximum manufactured diameter: up to 5070 mm Designed for pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and critical process systems, Metaflex® gaskets provide reliable sealing performance from high vacuum to high-pressure conditions. Available in a wide range of sizes, materials, and configurations to suit industrial, petrochemical, marine, and power generation applications.
